FEATURED PHOTO OF THE MONTH

This beautiful Loggerhead Shrike perched itself on a bush and scanned the area looking for it's next meal. Loggerhead shrikes are not gentle with their prey. They are commonly referred to as butcher birds because of the way they impale their prey on barbed wires or other pointy objects. This Shrike found a dragon fly and impaled it onto a nearby tree branch. Saving it for a later snack.
